At Remembered, we understand the importance of preserving the memory of our immediate family, relatives or friends. Regular upkeep of a memorial can be a difficult and sometimes daunting task for a variety of reasons.  

Our approach is to ease this responsibility by offering a grave and memorial tending service which can be tailored to meet your individual needs, providing peace of mind and ensuring your memorial is maintained with the utmost dignity, care and respect.

Whether it's monthly or annual visits, arranging fresh flowers, cleaning headstones or memorials and maintaining the immediate landscape, we will tailor our service to your needs.

Based in Newport Shropshire, we cover our local areas of Telford, South Staffordshire and Shrewsbury churchyards and cemeteries. 

Our offer includes; 

Burial or Cremation Headstone & Kerbset memorials
During each visit, we will provide;

• General assessment of condition.

• Light clean of memorial with water. 

• Remove wilting flowers, plants and any wind-blown debris.

• Remove weeds from around base.

• Memorial pots and vases are emptied and washed.

• Decorative items washed.

• Trim and edge grass around memorial base. 

• Lightly prune to tidy any existing bushes or shrubs around memorial. 

• Place a posy of fresh seasonal flowers into an existing grave pot or vase.

• Digital photograph of before and after visit sent by either email or to a mobile phone.

Service and price is dependent on size, material and condition of the memorial and will be confirmed following an initial assessment visit.  Please contact us to discuss.

Headstone / Memorial Deep Cleaning 

Each grave or memorial's condition and suitability for cleaning is different.  If the memorial is too fragile or unstable, we would advise not to deep clean. If we can clean, our deep cleaning service includes;

• Use of soft bristle brushes only - no metallic tools or scrapers, wire brushes, power washers or power tool are used.

• Specially formulated memorial cleaner (with no harsh chemicals to harm the stone or wildlife) is used to remove environmental pollution, bird droppings, dirt, stains, mold, mildew, lichen and algae.  This biological solution will continue to clean for several days after the visit.

Re lettering

Headstone or memorial re lettering service is offered using carefully crafted liquid gold flake paint, specifically designed for this purpose with unique light reflective qualities that result in an authentic brilliant appearance. Additional paint colours can be obtained if requested (silver, black, white, blue, red and yellow).  Please contact us to discuss your needs and how best we can help.
 

Memorial Benches

Service can be added to the standard memorial cleaning visit. Price is dependent on the condition of the bench - which will be confirmed following an initial assessment visit.  During our visit, we will provide;

• General assessment of the bench condition.

• Light clean with water and soap to remove loose dirt and grime.

• Oiling, painting or varnishing of wooden bench (if requested at an additional charge). 

• Digital photograph of before and after visit sent by either email or to a mobile phone.

• Covering up of bench during the winter months to protect from adverse weather.   We can provide the bench cover or you can supply to us.

Deep Cleaning 

From £75 for standard headstone or memorial marker.  Kerbsets from £85.  

Final quoted price will depend on the age, condition, location and expected hours of work required to the grave or memorial it self.   Please contact us for a personalized quote. 

Re lettering

Using liquid paint specially formulated for this activity, prices from £45 per headstone (assumes approx. 100 letters).   Please contact to discuss.

Personalized Services

One-off services can be added to the above standard visit as required;

• One off 'special occasion' posy of flowers or plant from £17

• Christmas fresh wreaths or plants placed on the memorial from £17

• Grass reseeded (if necessary) from £3

• Replacing chippings or aggregates (price dependent on quantity and type of replacement material; gravel, slate or glass chippings - please ask).

• Replacement vases and flower holders from £10

• Replacement graveside decorations placed on the memorial.

• Planting of seasonal plants x6 (where possible) from £10

• Silk floral arrangement from £13

• Remembrance cards or ‘engraved’ (wallet sized) aluminum cards with your personal message from £10

General T&Cs

• Each grave is different and may require a unique tailor-made service rather than our standard service described and priced above.  We will review the grave or memorial and confirm to you following the initial visit assessment report. 

• Cleaning headstones should never be the intent to make them look new again, just clean.

• We do not use wire brushes, power tools or power washers for our cleaning processes to give an immediate effect.  As such, our gentle brushing and cleaning process can easily take up to five labour hours depending on the initial condition.  Whilst we expect a visible improvement after the first clean visit, it may not be final condition as the biological solution continues to gently clean over the following weeks.  We will revisit to check and re-photograph the grave or memorial after a few weeks to ensure our work is the best it can be.  

• We will make every effort to remove all dirt and grime from the memorial.  In some cases, wear and tear, stains and decay may remain, especially if the memorial or bench is old, has been poorly maintained or is constructed of a particularly porous material.   

• We will only use tap water to lightly clean headstones and avoid damage from soaps, detergents or harmful chemicals to the memorial or surrounding areas.

• We will only use specially formulated headstone and memorial cleaner for our deep clean service. This cleaning solution is expensive to buy but is the best and proven product to avoid any damage to the grave or memorial itself. the wildlife and surrounding environment. 

• Even with the most careful techniques, cleaning may accelerate deterioration or cause loss of original material.  

• It can be harmful to deep clean memorials too often. 

• Damaged or unstable memorials will not be lightly or deep cleaned - but will be photographed and reported to you.

• On a rare occasion, we may decide not to carry out light cleaning on particular visit if there is a risk of damage to the memorial or bench due to expected weather conditions (i.e. risk of  freezing). We will notify you of this in the general assessment feedback.

• Fresh flowers for each posy are subject to availability and are sourced locally.

• If you are unable to provide us with a grave number, we cannot guarantee the work will be done on the first visit as we will need to first locate the grave, which may sometimes be difficult. If it is not possible to do so, you will be charged the lower rate of £17 for the cost of the initial visit.

• Whilst we can provide our standard visit and light clean service on behalf of family or friends, churchyard and cemeteries require written permission given to us from a family member to deep clean memorials on your behalf. 

• Proof of service will be given in the form of a before and after photo sent either by email or text. 

• We accept no liability for any loss or damage arising after your order has been fulfilled.

• Payment accepted in advance of visit by Paypal or Bank Transfer (details will be provided upon request).

• We will work to individual cemeteries regulations and conditions.
